Let total distance is x and the total time be t.

$t_1,t_2$ be the times taken in covering distance $\frac{x}{3}$ distance $\frac{2x}{3}$ respectively

$t_1=\frac{2t}{3}{t}_2=\frac{t}{3}$

speed = $\frac{distance}{time}$

$\Rightarrow v_1=\frac{x\times 3}{3\times 2t}=\frac{x}{2t}$

$v_2=\frac{2x\times 3}{3\times t}=\frac{2x}{t}$

$\therefore \frac{v_1}{v_2}=\frac{\frac{x}{2t}}{\frac{2x}{t}}=\frac{1}{4}$
