Step 1, Given data and related figure

Diameter of the circular park =500 m

So, Radius = 250 m


Step 2, Finding distance and displacement

Time taken to complete one cycle = 1 minute

The person will complete 512 round in 5 minutes 30 sec.

Now we can write,

Distancecovered=5(2πR)+πR

Or,D=11πR

Now putting all the values


D=11×3.14×250

After solving

Distance traveled = 8635 m

Hence the total distance traveled = 8635 m

As we know displacement is shortest path between initial and final position and here final position is at end of half circle, ,

So, displacement will be, =2R=2×250=500m

Displacement = D = 500 m
