Solution

Dear student,

Answer: 2

Low levels of ADH or vasopressin will cause the kidneys to excrete too much water which leads to dehydration. Diabetes is also associated with increased urine production and thirst. Here it is mentioned that the person's blood glucose level is normal. Hence the reason behind this excess urine production (polyuria) and excess thirst (polydipsia) would be a reduction in vasopressin secretion from the posterior pituitary.

Regards.
