Question

A person spends 13 of the money with him on clothes, 15 of the remaining on food and 14 of the remaining on travel. Now, he is left with Rs 100. How much did he have with him in the beginning?

Let the person have x as the total amount in the beginning then
According to the given condition-

Total expenses on cloths =13×xx3
Remaining balance =xx32x3
Total expenses on food =15×2x32x15
Remaining balance =2x32x158x15
Total expenses on travel =14×8x152x15
Now, he is left with Rs.100
2x5=100
2x=500
x=Rs.250.

Hence, the person had Rs.250 oin the beginning.
