A person starts from 1010. He goes 1000 steps forward and comes 2000 steps back. What will be his final position on the number line?

Solution

If he is standing at 1010 and takes 1000 steps forward, he will reach at 1010 + 1000 = 2010
If he now steps back 2000 steps, he will arrive at 2010 - 2000 = 10
His final position on the number line is 10.
