The correct option is C y = 2x + 0.5
Distance covered by the person for every 1 h = 2 mi = Rate of change

∴ Slope (m) = unit rate of change = 2

Initial distance covered by the person (b) = 2640 ft = 0.5 mi

The slope intercept equation is written as: y=mx+b

Substituting the values of m and b there, we get:
y=2x+0.5

Therefore, the equation for the distance covered by the person is y = 2x + 0.5.
