Let person starts from the origin $A$=($0\hat{i}+0\hat{j}$),

Person travels 6 $m$ towards east at Point B= $6\hat{i}$,

Person travels 8 $m$ towards north at C= $6\hat{i}+8\hat{j}$,

Person travels 16 $m$ towards south at D= $6\hat{i}-8\hat{j}$,

So dispalcement is $\overline{DA}=|6\hat{i}-8\hat{j}|$= 10 $m$
