Given:

f=70 cm, f is negative, it is a case of Myopia.

let u= because we want the eye to be able to see objects kept at infinity which is the far point of a normal eye.

We know, 1v1u=1f

By substituting, 1v1=170 cm

1v0=170 cm

1v=170

v=70 cm

Therefore the far point of the person's eye is at 70cm in front of his eyelens(indicated by -ve sign)
