A person who is on a long hunger strike and is surviving only on water, will have _________
Less urea in his urine
A person who is on a hunger strike and is surviving only on water will have less urea secretion in his urine, due to non-availability of external food to be metabolised for urea formation. Whatever nitrogen is already available in the body gets converted to ammonia. This is further converted by the liver into urea, which is less toxic than ammonia to the body. The kidneys will then filter out the urea from the circulation, send it to the bladder along with water and excrete it in the form of urine.
