‘A’ type blood has antibodies to antigen B of B type blood; while type B has antibodies to antigens of type A. Group AB has no antibodies as the RBCs have both A and B surface antigens which are recognised as non foreign proteins. Group O however, has antibodies to both A and B antigens.
