Solution

The limbic system of the cerebrum is responsible for generating memories and developing emotional senses. When the man wears the same shirt he wore on the day of accident, the unpleasant memories associated with the shirt are revived which makes him remember all the agony he went through. Hence, it is a psychological process which is making him insecure about the shirt although this shirt has no role in the cause of accident.
