A physical quantity Q is given by Q=A2.B3/2C4D1/2. The percentage error in A, B, C, D are 1%,2%,4%,2% respectively. Find the percentage error in Q.

The percentage errors for A,B,C,D are respectively 1%, 2%, 4% and 2%

The formula for Q is, Q=A2B32C4D12

So from the formula of error calculation:
The percentage error in Q=ΔQQ×100

ΔQQ×100 =2ΔAA×100+3/2ΔBB×100+4ΔCC×100+1/2ΔDD×100

=2×1+32×2+4×4+12×2

=22% = (20+2)
