Question 91
A picture hall has seats for 820 persons. At a recent film show, one usher guessed it was 34 full, another that it was 23 full. The ticket office reported 648 sales. Which usher (first or second ) made the better guess?
Given, picture hall has seats = 820
One usher guessed , picture hall was 34 full
∴34of820=34×820=3×8204=24604=615
Another usher guessed , picture hall was 23 full
∴23 of 820=23×80=2×820316403=546.66
Since 648 tickets are sold that is near to 615.
So first usher guess was better.
