A piece of aluminum of volume 200 cm3 and density 2.7g/cm3 is completely immersed in kerosene. Determine the up thrust exerted on the piece of aluminum and also determine how much it will in kerosene. Explain the steps with reasons.

Thrust exerted = Weight of Volume of liquid displaced by aluminium = density of liquid x g x Volume of solid = 200 x 10^-6 x 9.81 x 810 = 1.56 Newton.....the piece of aluminium will completely sink in kerosene as its density is greater than liquid
