Let $\rho$=density of sugar solution $>{\rho }_w$
m=mass of ice.
In floating condition weight=upthrust
$\therefore$ $mg=V_I\rho g$
or $V_I=\frac{m}{\rho }$ (i)
When ice melts, m mass of ice becomes m mass of water. Volume of this water formed.
$V_F=\frac{m}{{\rho }_w}$ (ii)
Since ${\rho }_w<\rho$, $V_F>V_I$. Hence level will increase.
