A piece of ribbon folded five times is placed along a 30 cm long measuring scale as shown in Fig.
The length of the ribbon is between:
(a) 1.15 - 1.25 m
(b) 1.25 - 1.35 m
(c) 1.5 - 1.6 m
(d) 1.6 - 1.70 m
The length of the folded ribbon can be found out by finding the difference in marking at two ends.
Here, the endpoint is at 27.5 cm and the start point is at 2 cm. So the length is 27.5 - 2 =25.5 cm.
Since the ribbon is folded five times, the total length of the ribbon is 5 × 25.5 = 127.5 cm = 1.275 m.
