Question

a piece of sliver has a resistance of 1 ohm. What will be the resistance of a constant and wire of one third length and one half diameter if the specific resistance of constantan is 30 times that of silver?

Solution

Resistance of a wire in Ω
R = ρL/A
ρ is resistivity of the material in Ω-m
L is length in meters
A is cross-sectional area in m²

1/3 L means 1/3 R
1/3 diameter means 1/9 the area, means 9x the resistance

Assuming by "specific resistance" you mean resistivity, then 30x resistivity means 30 times the resistance.

So R = (1/3) (9) (30) (1 ohm) = 90 ohms

Hope you understood
