Question

A piece of wood of mass 150 g has a volume of 200cm^3. Find the density of wood in : (a) C.G.S unit. (b) S.I. unit.

Open in App
Solution

Density = mass volume = 150200gcm3 = 0.75 g cm−3 (in CGS units)

As, 1 kg = 1000 g
 150 g = 0.15 kg
and 1 m3 = 106 cm3
so, 200 cm3 = 2 X 10-4 m3
Again using the above formula for density :
we get Density in Si units = 750 kgm-3 ( in S.I unit)
