Solution

The correct option is A A is false but R is true.
The correct answer is Option C, A is false but R is true.
According to the assertion potential energy of pigeon at A is highest, potential energy of pigeon at C is least and potential energy of pigeon at B has an intermediate value.
But the correct relation between potential energy and height of the body is : Higher the height of the body, greater is its potential energy.
Therefore the potential energy of pigeon at C is highest, potential energy of pigeon at A is least and potential energy of pigeon at B will have an intermediate value.
So clearly, the assertion provided is false while the reason is true.
