A piggy bank has only rupees 1 and 50 Paise coins. If there are 3 times as many 50 Paise coins as rupees 1 and the total amount is rupees 35. How many coins of each kind are there

Let us assume that the number of coins of 1 rupee are x
therefore coins of 50 paisa are 3x
amount of 1 rupee coin = 1×x=100x paisa
amount of 50 paisa coins=50x3x =150x paisa
100x+150x=3500
250x=3500
x=14

and 3x = 3x14 = 42

there are 14 one rupee coins and 42 fifty paisa coins
