Solution

The correct option is B 3cm/s ¯i1cm/s ¯j+5cm/s ¯k
Let the velocities of the object and the image with respect to mirror be Vu and Vv respectively.

Velocity of the mirror is 5cm/s¯j

Vu=(3¯i+4¯j+5¯k)(5¯j)cm/s=(3¯i1¯j+5¯k)cm/s

Components of Vu and Vv parallel to the mirror are same.
Therefore Vv=(1¯j+5¯k)cm/s

Components of Vu and Vv perpendicular to the mirror are equal in magnitude but opposite in direction.. Therefore Vv=(3¯i)cm/s

Therefore, velocity of the image with respect to the mirror is:
Vv=(3¯i1¯j+5¯k)cm/s
