The correct option is B 24 cm


The focal length of combination of lens and one its back surface silvered for it to be act as a mirror is given by:-

1f=2fl+1fm

where fl=focal length of lens
and fm=focal length of mirror formed

Here, fl=30cm and for plane mirror fm=

1f=230+1

f=15cm

Now, for mirror:-

1v+1u=1f

1v=1f1u

1v=115140=115+140

v=24cm
