A plant shows the following symptoms: stunted growth, chlorosis and smaller leaves. This may be due to the deficiency of a micronutrient, possibly:
Zinc
The mentioned symptoms are of Zinc deficiency. Zinc is essential for auxin synthesis in plants and in case of deficiency, auxin levels are low leading to stunted growth. Further, zinc is an activator of various enzymes such as carboxylase, hydrogenase and carbonic anhydrase, all of which are important for the metabolism of the plant. The deficiency of zinc could thus lead to chlorosis and production of smaller sized leaves.
