Area of the plate A=10cm2=103m2
Total thickness of Cu deposited t=2×10μm=2×105m
Density of Cu ρ=9gm/cc=9000kg/m3
Thus volume of Cu deposited V=At
V=103×2×105=2×108m3
Mass of Cu deposited m=ρV
m=9000×2×108=1.8×104kg
Charge flowing during the process q=1.8×1043×1017=6×1012 C
Thus energy spent by the cell E=qVcell
E=6×1012×12
E=7.2×1013J
