Question

Solution

Radius of the semicircle, r=24.52=12.25 m

It is given that the playground has a shape of a rectangle, with two semicircles on its smaller sides as diameter, added to its outside. So,

Area of the playground = Area of rectangle + 2 × Area of semi-circle

=36×24.5+2×π×12.2522

=882+471.625=1353.625 m2
