A plumber can be paid under two schemes as given below:-
Scheme I:- Rs. 500 and Rs. 70 per hour.

Solution

Given x hours

The wage earned according to scheme 1 is 500+70×x

The wage earned according to scheme 2 is 120×x

For scheme 1 to be better

500+70×x>120×x

50×x<500 that is x<10

for x= 1 to 9 hours scheme 1 is better therefore the total values of x are 9
