When charge q is released at distance 3R at rest from a uniformlycharged ring with fixed charges Q then kinetic energy at this point is zero.The potential energy at tis point is given by U=Qq4πε0×3RAccording to the principle of conservation of energy, net energy at the centre of the ring must be zero, so 12mv2-U=0At the distance x=R , the potential enrgy is U=Qq4πε0×R, so net energy 12mv2-Qq4πε0×R=0or v2=Qq2πε0m×Ror v=Qq2πε0m×RThus the velocity of charge q at the centre of the ring is Qq2πε0m×R.
