Question

A point charge of 0.1 C is placed on the circumference of a non-conducting ring of radius 1 m which is rotating with a constant angular acceleration of 1 rad/sec2. If ring starts it's motion at t=0, the magnetic field at the centre of the ring at t=10 sec is 10x. Then x is

Solution

Angular velocity at t=10 s
ω=0+1×10=10 rad/sec2
Linear velocity of charge at t=10 s
v=rω=1×10=10 m/s
Magnetic field at the centre of the ring
¯B=μ04πq(¯vׯr)r3
¯B=μ0qv4πr2
=107×0.1×10(1)2=107 T
