Solution

The correct option is A Zero
When the rotating charge q completes one revolution it will attain its initial position. So

Vf=Vi=V

Where, V= electric potential

The work done by electric field due to charge Q on charge q in one complete revolution is given by

Wext(if)q=VfVi

Welec(if)q=VfVi=ΔV

Welecq=0

Welec=0

So, option (a) is correct.

Why this question?Tip: If q would have been rotating aroundcentre as charge Q, then for any moment on circle Vi=Vf=KQr. Thus, Welec=0.Caution: In one complete revolutionwork done by electric forces will alwaysbe zero, despite any position of the charge Q
