The correct option is C Kinetic energy of the centre of mass is 0.75J

Applying conservation of linear momentum

1×v+5×0=1×2v2……(1)

As collision is elastic

v2+2=v

v2=1ms1

v=3ms1

Total momentum of the system

=3kgms1

vcm=1×v+01+5

=12m/s

K.E==12(1+2)v2cm=0.75j

Hence C is correct ans.
