Solution

The correct options are
A Another concave lens of focal length 60 cm is placed is contact with the previous lens
C The whole system is immersed in liquid of refractive index 9/8
Here,
Given , Object distance=30 cm
Final image will be formed at infinity if,

Object dstance=Focal length

now,
for u=feqfeq=30 cm

1feq=1f11f2

f1=+20 cm

1f2=120130=160

Hence image will be infinity if concave lens of 60 cm focal length is placed in contact.

Now,
let the lens is kept in a surrounding of refractive index μ

then by lens maker formula,
1f=(μLμM1)(1R11R2)

R=20 cm

1f=(321)(2R)f=R

1feq=⎜ ⎜ ⎜32981⎟ ⎟ ⎟(2R)

feq=3R2=602=30 cm

hence image distane is at ifinity when the whole system is immersed
in a surrounding of μ=98

Option A,D is correct.
