The image distance v can be calculatedputting u=−30cm, f=+20cm in 1u+1v=1f ⇒1−30+1v=1+20⇒1v=120+130=+3+260=+112 ⇒v=+12cm ∴ The image l is formed at a distance u+v=30+12=42cm form O. This image l behaves as an object ⇒ This object l after being refracted at surface 1 forms an image l. OlOl=11.5=23⇒Ol=42×23=28cm.
