Given an intensity of Io at a distance of ro from the point source

Let us suppose that the distance at which intensity becomes 0.100×Io is rd.

We know that the intensity of a sound wave which is three dimensional is proportional to the
Inverse of the cube of the distance from the source i.e.
I1r3

This means that
I×r3=constant

So,
Io×r3o=(0.100Io)×r3d

r3d=10×r3o

rd=2.16ro

So B is the correct answer.
