Given:
Velocity of police jeep
(VP)=45 km/h=45×518=22518=12.5m/s
Velocity of thief jeep (VT)=153 km/h=153×518=42.5 m/s
Muzzle velocity of bullet
(Vb)=180 m/s
Therefore, Effective speed of the bullet
= speed of bullet + speed of polic jeep
Effective speed of the bullet=180 m/s+12.5 m/s
Effective speed of the bullet =192.5 m/s
Hence,
Velocity of the bullet with respect to thief’s car (VBT)
