Question

A polythene piece rubbed with wool is found to have a negative charge of 3×107C. Estimate the number of electrons transferred from wool to polythene.

Open in App
Solution

Given the charge, Q=3×107C
We have to find the number of electrons transferred.
So, for this we use the formula Q=ne
where Q= total charge
n= number of electron transferred
e= charge on one electron =1.6×1019C
So, n=Qe=3×1071.6×1019
=1.875×1012 electrons
2×1012 electrons
