A positively charged conductor is connected to a neutral conductor. Which conductor is at higher potential? What is the direction of flow of electric current?

  1. Electrons always flow from negative to positive potential.
  2. Positively charged objects will exert an attractive force on each electron in the neutral object and a repulsive force on each proton in a neutral object.
  3. Protons are unable to move as they are bound to the nucleus which is stuck in a lattice of the chemical bond.
  4. The electrons in the highest energy levels on the other hand are free to move in a conductor.
  5. So they are attracted and flown towards the positively charged objects.
  6. So the electrons will flow from neutral object to positive object until they are the electrical potential.
