When potentiometer connected between AB
v=ϵ1 and l=20.6cm
x=ϵ1203.6
ϵ1=203.6x(1)
When it is connected between AC then
v=ϵ1ϵ2 and l=24.6x(2)
Subtracting equation (1) and (2)
ϵ1=203.6x
v=ϵ1ϵ2=24.6x
ϵ2=(203.624.6)x
ϵ2=179x
x=ϵ2179
There when potentiometer is connected between B and C then the balance point will be 179cm
