A production incharge was given a standard toy-train. He/she was asked to produce similar other toy-trains. What control process should he follow?
The production incharge can conduct the following control processes :
(i) The quantitative standards for manufacturing similar other toy-trains based on the specifications of a standard toy-train is already set. The production incharge can set qualitative or intangible standards like performance of managers, maintain standards for absenteeism, etc.
(ii) The production incharge can measure the actual performance of the subordinates under him/her by measuring the efforts put by them and the results or outcomes or the efforts in making the toy-trains.
(iii) The production incharge can compare the resulting toy-trains with the standard toy-train be measuring the need for action which is the difference between desired performance and actual performance.
(iv) The deviations between desired and actual standards of the toy-train should be studied.
(v) If the resulting toy-train matches the standard toy-train then no changes should be made by the production incharge. However, if there are deviations then the production incharge will need to rectify the problems before making the remaining toy-trains.
