A projectile is fired with a velocity V=32 m/s from a point at height H = 0.8 m at an angle of 45o with respect to the horizontal direction as shown in the Figure. Find the horizontal distance S in meters travelled by the projectile when it hits the ground. Take acceleration due to gravity as 10 m/s2.__________

The correct option is A 2.4
v=32m/sec

vy=v sin45=3m/sec

vx=v cos45=3m/sec

h=0.8m

Taking upward as positive and downward negative.

h=vyt12gt2

0.8=3t12×10×t2t=0.8

x=vxt=3×0.8=2.4 m
