A proton of charge e and mass m enters a uniform magnetic field B=B^i with an initial velocity v=vx^i+vy^j. Find an expression in unit-vector notation for its velocity at time t.

Component of velocity parallel to B i.e., vx will remain unchanged vy^j and Bj will rotate the particle in y-z plane ( to B).
At the beginning direction to magnetic force is ^k [from the relation, F=q(vy^j×B^i)]
In the time t, particle rotates and angle θ=ωt=(Bqm)t from its original path.
In the figure we can set that, y-component of velocity at time t is vycosθ and z-component is vysinθ.
