The correct option is A1.6m/s2 FBD of blocks 2kg and 3kg :
For 2kg block:
(50+2g)−T=m2a 50+2×10−T=2a ⇒70−T=2a...(1)
For 3kg block:
T−3g=m1a⇒T−30=3a...(2)
From (1) and (2)
70−30=5a 40=5a⇒a=8m/s2
Therefore, accerlation of 3kg block is upward and acceleration of 2kg block is downwards.
Acceleration of COM, acom=m1a1+m2a2m1+m2=3×8+2×(−8)5=1.6m/s2 [Taking upwards motion as positive ]
