Let us take an example:

Factorise the quadratic polynomial x2+2x15=0 as shown below:

x2+2x15=0
x2+5x3x15=0
x(x+5)3(x+5)=0
x3=0 or x+5=0

Therefore, the zeroes of the polynomial x2+2x15 are 3,5.
