The set of rules for constructing ray diagrams to obtain images are:
  • Any ray travelling parallel to the principle axis should pass through focus and vice versa.
  • Any ray of light passing through the optic centre should pass without any deviation.
  • At least 2 rays of light should intersect each other to plot the position of image.
