Question

A ray is incident on a glass slab of refractive index 3 from air at an angle of 30o from the surface. What is the angle of refraction?

Open in App
Solution

Since incident ray makes 30^0 with the surface of slab , therefor angle of incidence, i=600
μ1=1, μ2=3
now using Snell's law,
μ1sini=μ2sinr
this gives ,sinr=sin6003
r=sin112=300
