Solution

The correct option is C 3

Given: δ=r

When unpolarized light is incident at the polarizing angle, the reflected and refracted light are perpendicular.

ip+r=90

iP=90r ...(1)

Angle of deviation δ=ipr

As, δ=r

r=ipr

ip=2r

r=ip2 ...(2)

From equation (1)

ip=90r

ip=90ip2

ip=60

From Brewster's law

μ=tanip=tan60=3

Hence, option (C) is correct.
