A ray of light strikes a plane mirror such that angle with the mirror is 25 degree. What is the value of the angle of reflection? What is the angle between the incident ray and the reflected ray.

Given the angle between the mirror and the incident ray is 25°.


Step 2: Finding the angle of incidence and angle of reflection.

AON=90°-25°=65°

Because the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection according to the second law of reflection.

AON=NOB=65°

Step 3: Angle between the incident ray and the reflected ray.
The angle between the incident ray and the reflected rayAON+NOB=65°+65°=130°.

Hence, the angle between the incident ray and the reflected ray is 130°.
