From the given electronic configuration we can get the number of electrons.
Sum: (2+8+18+32+32+18+8)=118; hence the number of electrons = 118.
In a neutral atom, the number of protons and number of electrons are equal since the atom is electrically neutral.
Thus number of protons = 118
Given mass number = 294
Mass number = sum of a number of protons and neutrons.
Number of neutrons = mass number - number of protons = (294-118) = 176.
