$I^{s t}$ method $\Rightarrow$ butter : sugar $\Rightarrow$ 2 : 3
$I I^{n d}$ method $\Rightarrow$ butter : sugar $\Rightarrow$ 2x : 3x
$\begin{matrix} 2 x = 8 x = 4 \end{matrix}$
Then sugar $= 3 x$
$= 3 \times 4 = 12$
