A rectangle and a square have the same perimeter.The rectangle is of length 7cm and has an area of 35cm ,find the length of the square.

Dear Student
perimeter of rectangle =perimeter of square
2(l+b)=4a

Now
Given
area of rectangle =35cm²
l×b=35 ( length =7 cm given)
7×b =35
b= 5 cm

Now
2(7+5) =4a
2×12=4a
a=6 cm

Area of square =a×a = 6×6= 36cm^{2
