A rectangle has its area equal to that of square of side 80cm. If the length of a rectangle is 160cm, find its breadth.

Side of square = 80cm

Areaofsquare=side×side=80×80=6400cm2

We are given that, area of square = area of rectangle

So, Area of rectangle = 6400cm2 and length of rectangle = 160cm

Now, using the formula of area of rectangle to find out its breadth.

Areaofrectangle=length×breadth=6400cm2160×breadth=6400breadth=6400160=40cm

Therefore, breadth of rectangle =40cm.
